The Panasonic AK-UCX100GSJ is a next‑generation 4K studio camera designed for IP‑centric live production, combining 2,000 TV‑line resolution, HDR/HLG (BT.2020) color, uncompressed ST 2110 and NDI® High Bandwidth IP streaming, dual 12G‑SDI outputs, and standalone operation without a CCU for premium studio, sports, and event workflows.
The Panasonic AK‑UCX100GSJ is a 4K HDR studio camera engineered to meet the evolving demands of IP‑based live production across studios, sports venues, and live event spaces. Its newly developed MOS sensor delivers up to 2,000 TV lines of resolution both horizontally and vertically, producing exceptionally detailed images that hold up on large displays and LED walls. With F10 sensitivity at 2000 lux and a signal‑to‑noise ratio of 62 dB or higher, the camera maintains low noise and high image fidelity even in challenging lighting environments.
Built‑in HDR with Hybrid Log‑Gamma (HLG) and BT.2020 wide color gamut enables rich gradation, deep contrast, and highly accurate color reproduction, capturing the nuance of stage lighting, sports, and broadcast sets. The AK‑UCX100GSJ can simultaneously output HLG (BT.2020) and SDR (BT.709), allowing broadcasters to serve both HDR and legacy SDR workflows from a single camera chain. For LED stage and set environments, an optional HD low‑pass filter reduces luminance and chroma moiré, ensuring clean, artifact‑free images when shooting high‑resolution LED backdrops.
Designed for flexible deployment, the AK‑UCX100GSJ can operate fully as a standalone camera head without a CCU, outputting directly via dual 12G‑SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI® High Bandwidth, and SRT for a wide range of baseband and IP workflows. For more traditional studio builds, it integrates seamlessly with Panasonic’s AK‑UCU700 CCU series and the AK‑CFA100 Camera Fiber Adaptor, enabling optical fiber connectivity, TRUNK video/data transport, and scalable system expansion. Dual SFP28 slots support 4K redundant IP links, while Genlock, reference out, TSL 5.0 tally over IP, Dante® audio, and an ND filter wheel add the reliability and control demanded by professional broadcast environments.
The AK‑UCX100GSJ is built for modern IP infrastructure with SMPTE ST 2110 support, enabling uncompressed 4K video transport, network redundancy, and JPEG XS‑based low‑latency, visually lossless transmission for bandwidth‑constrained networks. High‑speed modes provide up to 2x frame rates in 4K and 2x/3x/4x in HD, delivering smooth slow‑motion playback ideal for sports replays and dynamic event coverage. Combined, these features position the camera as a future‑ready solution that bridges today’s baseband systems with tomorrow’s IP studios.
To support demanding live production, the AK‑UCX100GSJ includes high‑precision focus assist powered by phase detection, with on‑screen focus indicators, guide icons, and VF Boost to increase contrast in dark areas of the viewfinder. This helps operators maintain critical focus on fast‑moving subjects and in low light. The camera also integrates tightly with Panasonic 4K PTZ cameras, allowing a single remote operation panel to manage color matching and control across both studio and PTZ units, making multi‑angle, multi‑format productions easier to deploy and operate. With robust TRUNK video/data transmission over optical fiber and comprehensive slow‑motion, HDR, and IP capabilities, the AK‑UCX100GSJ is built as a versatile hub for next‑generation live production systems.
