The AC-EXUSB-3-KIT inputs four USB devices via USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A female ports, and with proven stable HDBaseT technology, transports any combination of up to four USB 3.2 Gen 1, 2.0, or 1.0 signals to a distance as great as 100 meters (328 feet) using CAT 6A cable.
The Device end of this two-piece extension kit conveniently functions as a hub, connecting as many as four peripherals in any combination to the strategically located Host unit. Mixed USB signal standards may be used simultaneously, complementing the A/V pedigree of the AC-EXUSB-3-KIT. The compact design and flexibility to power either end make placement simple and efficient.
AVPro Edge is an expert in extending HDMI signals over long distances, but USB technology has much stricter distance limitations. While USB 3.X passive cabling is restricted to roughly nine feet, the AC-EXUSB-3-KIT overcomes these limitations by applying AVPro’s extensive expertise in packetized data transport—proven through MXnet AV-over-IP ecosystems and their advanced network switch engineering. As more modern conference room setups rely heavily on USB-based 4K cameras, microphones, speakers, and interactive equipment, the AC-EXUSB-3-KIT delivers the robust transport necessary to maintain flawless performance in demanding environments.
USB 1.0, 2.0, and 3.2 Gen 1 signals can be transported simultaneously across the AC-EXUSB-3-KIT. Both the Host and Device feature robust USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and the Device unit functions as a USB hub for connecting multiple peripherals to the host computer.
DisplayLink ensures easy compatibility between computers and displays, regardless of device brand. Framesync keeps USB 2.0 and USB 3.X data synchronized even during mixed use across all four USB ports.
Power may be applied to either end of the system, automatically powering the opposite device via bidirectional PoC through the category cable. This flexibility, combined with the compact design, simplifies installation planning and execution.
USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Gen 1 architecture supports full‑duplex data transfers, delivering up to 5 Gbps bandwidth—ideal for 4K webcams, codecs, and conference soundbars requiring high data throughput.
CAT‑6A cabling is recommended for optimal HDBaseT performance and for achieving the full 100‑meter extension length. CAT‑5e can be used, though maximum distance is reduced to approximately 70 meters.
When set to "HOST," disconnecting the 5V supply on the Host unit removes the 5V Vbus output on the Device unit—forcing peripherals to renegotiate (“Surprise Removal”). In the "ON" position, the Device unit maintains a constant 5V supply for peripherals requiring stable power.
