The Allen & Heath Avantis is a professional digital mixing console that bridges the gap between compact form factors and flagship-level performance. Built on Allen & Heath's renowned XCVI FPGA processing platform, Avantis delivers powerful 96kHz audio processing, extensive routing flexibility, and an intuitive user experience that meets the demands of modern live sound production.
At the heart of Avantis is a 96kHz XCVI FPGA processing core that provides exceptional audio quality and an ultra-low system latency of just 0.7ms. The platform offers 64 input channels and 42 configurable buses as standard, with an optional dPack upgrade expanding capacity to 96 input channels and 56 buses for larger productions and more complex workflows.
Avantis features two vibrant 15.6-inch Full HD capacitive touchscreens designed for fast, intuitive operation. The advanced Continuity UI combines touchscreen gestures with dedicated hardware controls, allowing engineers to quickly access channels, processing, routing, metering, and effects through a highly efficient workflow.
Gesture support including pinch, swipe, drag, and drop operations makes navigation natural and responsive while reducing setup and mixing time during live events.
The console provides a fully configurable mixing architecture that adapts to a wide range of applications. Engineers can assign channels, buses, effects, DCAs, and outputs based on the requirements of each production, ensuring maximum flexibility for concerts, corporate events, theaters, houses of worship, and broadcast environments.
With 24 motorized faders organized across six layers and 144 assignable fader strips, Avantis offers extensive control while maintaining a compact footprint.
Every channel includes professional-grade processing tools such as high-pass filters, low-pass filters, parametric EQ, compression, gating, and delay. Mix outputs are equally powerful, featuring dedicated processing to ensure exceptional system tuning and overall sound quality.
The optional DEEP Processing suite adds premium emulations of legendary preamps, compressors, and expanders directly into the FPGA engine without consuming additional effects resources. Additional tools such as Dyn8 dynamic EQ and multiband compression provide advanced control for demanding production environments.
Avantis includes 12 RackExtra FX engines with dedicated stereo returns, providing access to high-quality reverbs, delays, modulation effects, and more. Users can further expand the console with the RackUltra FX upgrade, adding additional premium processing options for studio-grade vocal, reverb, and special effects applications.
The console includes 12 local XLR mic/line inputs, 12 local XLR outputs, AES digital I/O, and dual high-capacity I/O expansion ports. Each expansion slot supports up to 128×128 channels at 96kHz, allowing integration with Dante, MADI, Waves, gigaACE, and other professional audio networking solutions.
The integrated SLink connection enables seamless connectivity with Allen & Heath's range of remote stage boxes and personal monitoring systems, providing scalable I/O for productions of any size.
Avantis includes advanced audio analysis and monitoring tools, including a real-time analyzer (RTA), spectrogram display, comprehensive metering, and integrated signal generation. These tools allow engineers to quickly identify issues, optimize system performance, and maintain exceptional audio quality throughout an event.
To streamline operation, Avantis includes 24 assignable SoftKeys and customizable rotary controls that provide instant access to frequently used functions. Wireless remote mixing capabilities allow engineers to monitor and control the console from an iPad or compatible mobile device, offering greater flexibility during setup and live operation.
The console supports up to 500 scene memories per show, enabling operators to store and recall complete system configurations quickly. Advanced recall filters, channel safes, and user permissions allow precise control over what settings change between scenes, making the system ideal for complex productions and recurring events.
With its combination of premium audio quality, advanced processing, scalable networking, intuitive touchscreen operation, and flexible workflow design, the Allen & Heath Avantis is an outstanding solution for live sound engineers, touring productions, performing arts venues, houses of worship, corporate events, educational institutions, and broadcast applications.
