The Allen & Heath AHM-32 is a high-performance audio matrix processor engineered for demanding multi-room audio installations in hospitality, corporate, education, and large commercial environments. Combining extensive DSP capabilities, flexible zone routing, advanced control options, and scalable networking, the AHM-32 provides a powerful platform for managing complex audio systems from a single device.
At the heart of the AHM-32 is a fully configurable 32×32 audio matrix that enables flexible signal routing across multiple zones and audio destinations. Each output can be independently configured for mono zones, stereo zones, or dedicated loudspeaker processing applications, providing exceptional flexibility for system designers and integrators.
The AHM-32 features 12 mic/line inputs and 12 relay-protected line outputs on Phoenix connectors, providing comprehensive local audio connectivity for microphones, paging systems, media players, conferencing equipment, and distributed audio systems.
An integrated networking expansion slot allows the AHM-32 to accommodate a variety of professional audio transport formats. Optional networking cards include Dante, MADI, Waves, and Allen & Heath's SLink protocol, enabling expansion up to 128×128 channels for larger and more sophisticated installations.
The Dante 96kHz option card supports AES67 interoperability and is Dante Domain Manager (DDM) ready, allowing seamless integration into enterprise-wide audio networks.
The AHM-32 includes a comprehensive suite of DSP tools designed to optimize sound quality, system performance, and speech intelligibility across every zone.
Four independent Automatic Mic Mixers intelligently manage multiple microphone sources, reducing background noise and improving clarity during presentations, meetings, and public announcements. Ambient Noise Compensation continuously adjusts audio levels to maintain consistent coverage despite fluctuating environmental noise levels.
Priority Ducking automatically lowers background music levels when announcements or priority sources become active, ensuring important messages remain clear and intelligible.
Every input and output includes dedicated processing with 8-band parametric EQ, dynamics processing, and delay. Advanced loudspeaker management features include crossover filters, PEQ, limiters, delay, and All-Pass Filters, enabling precise speaker optimization and system tuning.
Powered by a 96kHz FPGA processing engine, the AHM-32 delivers exceptional audio quality and ultra-low latency performance. This high-performance architecture ensures reliable operation even in complex multi-zone environments where precision timing and audio clarity are essential.
For day-to-day operation, the AHM-32 features a front panel display with intuitive navigation controls. Eight programmable SoftKeys provide instant access to commonly used functions such as volume adjustment, source selection, preset recall, paging controls, and custom user-defined operations.
The AHM-32 supports Allen & Heath IP1, IP6, and IP8 remote controllers, allowing convenient system control from multiple locations within a facility. Users can easily adjust levels, change sources, and access presets without requiring direct access to the processor.
Support for the Custom Control app and editor enables BYOD control from smartphones, tablets, and other network-connected devices, providing flexible operation for both administrators and end users.
Designed for integration into modern AV and automation environments, the AHM-32 includes TCP/IP control capabilities and supports popular third-party control platforms including Crestron, AMX, and Extron. This allows seamless operation alongside larger building management and control systems.
The processor includes 2×2 local GPIO connections as well as support for networkable GPIO interfaces, enabling integration with external triggers, sensors, paging systems, and automation devices.
An integrated Event Scheduler allows system administrators to automate recurring functions such as source switching, volume adjustments, paging activation, and system presets based on time-of-day requirements.
Configuration, monitoring, and maintenance are simplified through Allen & Heath's System Manager software, available for both Windows and macOS platforms. The software provides access to advanced DSP configuration, routing, user management, scheduling, and system diagnostics.
The AHM-32 supports up to 16 user profiles, allowing organizations to provide role-based system access for administrators, technicians, and end users.
The AHM-32 is designed for medium to large-scale commercial audio installations including hotels, conference centers, corporate campuses, educational institutions, restaurants, retail environments, entertainment venues, community facilities, and houses of worship. Its combination of advanced DSP, extensive zoning capabilities, scalable networking, and flexible control options makes it an ideal solution for professional distributed audio systems.
