The Allen & Heath AHM-16 is a powerful audio matrix processor designed for commercial audio installations requiring advanced zoning, routing, and control. Delivering an exceptional balance of performance, flexibility, and value, it is ideal for bars, restaurants, retail environments, schools, hospitality venues, houses of worship, and corporate spaces.

16×16 Audio Processing Matrix

At the core of the AHM-16 is a fully configurable 16×16 processing matrix that enables flexible audio routing between sources and zones. Integrators can create mono or stereo zones, implement speaker processing, and manage multiple audio destinations from a single platform.

Local Analogue I/O

The processor includes 8 mic/line inputs and 8 relay-protected line outputs on Phoenix connectors, providing a solid foundation for a wide range of installed audio applications. These inputs and outputs support local audio distribution while maintaining high reliability and sound quality.

Expandable Audio Networking

An integrated expansion slot allows the AHM-16 to scale with system requirements through optional networking cards. Supported formats include Dante, MADI, Waves, and Allen & Heath's SLink protocol, enabling high-channel-count audio transport and system expansion of up to 128×128 channels.

Advanced DSP and System Processing

The AHM-16 includes a comprehensive suite of professional DSP tools designed to optimize audio performance throughout the installation. Automatic Mic Mixing improves speech intelligibility by managing multiple microphones, while Ambient Noise Compensation dynamically adjusts levels to maintain consistent coverage in changing environments.

Each input and zone benefits from dedicated audio processing including 8-band parametric EQ, dynamics control, and delay. Advanced loudspeaker management features include crossover filters, PEQ, limiters, delay, and All-Pass Filters for precise speaker tuning and system optimization.

Simple and Intuitive Control

A built-in front panel display provides direct access to system controls and status information. Four programmable SoftKeys can be customized for frequently used functions such as volume adjustment, source selection, preset recall, or other user-defined actions, allowing day-to-day system operation without requiring a computer.

Remote Control and User Access

The AHM-16 supports Allen & Heath IP1, IP6, and IP8 wall controllers, providing convenient remote operation throughout a facility. The Custom Control application and editor also enable BYOD control from smartphones, tablets, and other network-connected devices.

Third-Party Integration

Designed for professional AV installations, the AHM-16 integrates seamlessly with popular control systems through TCP/IP communication. Native support for Crestron, AMX, and Extron simplifies deployment within larger building management and automation platforms.

System Management and Automation

Configuration and monitoring are handled through the AHM System Manager software, available for both Windows and macOS. The platform supports multiple user profiles for controlled access and includes an Event Scheduler for automating routine audio tasks based on time and operational requirements.

Ideal Applications

The AHM-16 is well suited for hospitality venues, retail stores, educational facilities, houses of worship, corporate meeting spaces, community centers, and other multi-zone commercial audio environments requiring reliable processing, flexible routing, and centralized control.
